Monthly Tumor Board Session
Multidisciplinary case discussions featuring complex hepatobiliary and pancreatic cases. Open to all THPBA members and invited specialists.
HPB Surgical Workshop (Tentative)
An intensive, hands-on workshop covering advanced laparoscopic techniques for liver resection and biliary reconstruction. Limited to 30 participants for a high-quality learning experience.
Liver Surgery Masterclass (Tentative)
A full-day masterclass led by visiting international faculty covering liver anatomy, parenchymal transection techniques, vascular control strategies, and management of post-hepatectomy liver failure.

A look back at previous THPBA conferences and activities.
Tanzania Liver Cancer Conference (TLCC) 2025
25–26 July 2025, Dar es Salaam. 247 attendees, 38 speakers from 7 countries. Pre-conference: 260 hepatitis B screenings, 369 vaccinations, a research network symposium (180+ participants), and a 2-day surgical camp with 4 complex HPB operations. THPBA was formally announced at the closing ceremony. Published in ecancer 2026, 20:2067.
Tanzania Liver Cancer Conference (TLCC) 2023
The inaugural TLCC brought together 160 health professionals with 100% satisfaction rate among attendees. This was the conference that demonstrated the demand for organized HPB care in Tanzania and led to the formation of the TLCG working group. Published in ecancermedicalscience 17:1543.
Weekly Tumor Board
Running weekly since 2023, our multidisciplinary tumor board brings together surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists to discuss HPB cases and guide treatment decisions.
